Things to do in Santa Claus Village
Santa Claus Village sits on the Arctic Circle line, 8 km from central Rovaniemi (bus 8, roughly 25 minutes). Entry to the village is free all year round and it never closes, even at Christmas: you only pay for individual activities, the photo with Santa, and anything you buy in the shops.
The Santa Claus Post Office sends mail with an Arctic Circle postmark for a few euros, and reindeer or husky rides based here run from around 30 to 60 EUR. Winter temperatures drop to -15 degrees Celsius or lower, so most visits last an hour or two rather than a full day.
It is a separate site from SantaPark, the paid underground cavern nearby, and mixing the two up is the most common visitor mistake.
