Things to do at Ranua Wildlife Park
Ranua Wildlife Park is a walk-through outdoor zoo built around naturalised enclosures for brown bear, wolf, lynx, wolverine, reindeer and Arctic owl, laid out along several kilometres of trail rather than staged into show pens. Plan on half a day: the loop takes 2 to 3 hours at a steady pace, longer with children or deep snow underfoot.
Entry runs roughly 25 to 30 EUR for an adult, with family and season-pass options at the ticket office. The catch worth knowing before you buy: the brown bears hibernate from around November to March, so a winter visit can mean empty dens rather than active bears, while other species stay visible year-round.
Wear proper winter layers even in summer, since the enclosures sit exposed to wind with little shelter along the walk.
