Sehenswürdigkeiten in Äkäslompolo
Äkäslompolo ist das ältere, ruhigere der beiden Dörfer am Ylläs-Fjell, eine Ansammlung von Chalets, Restaurants und ein paar Läden am Ufer des Sees Äkäslompolo, etwa 170 km (2 Std. ) von Rovaniemi.
Es liegt auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite des Fjells von Ylläsjärvi, einem separaten Dorf, das trotz Zugehörigkeit zum selben Skigebiet oft damit verwechselt wird – prüfen Sie also, in welchem Ort Ihre Unterkunft tatsächlich liegt, bevor Sie buchen.
Im Sommer wird der See zum Schwimmen und Paddeln genutzt, und das Dorf ist der übliche Ausgangspunkt für den markierten Weg auf den Ylläs, mit 718 m den höchsten Fjell der Gegend. Restaurants und Lebensmittelläden schließen früher als in Levi, und außerhalb der Saison wird es hier ruhig.
